Breakfast at the campsite this morning: coffee, bacon , fried eggs, cheese, & toast. Yummy but hardly blog worthy photos.
After breakfast I went for a bike ride, pretty much repeating the same ride as the other day, but this time my camera battery had plenty of life.
Returning from my ride Joni and I cleaned up our campsite, and headed into Lewes for lunch at Station on Kings, a cafe, bakery, and home and garden market. The parking lot was filled with cars with Delaware license plates, so it's clearly a favorite among the locals, and the food was fabulous!
corn and crab chowder
gazpacho
peach and burrata flatbread: sundried tomato pesto, mozzarella, burrata cheese, arugula, fresh peaches, serrano ham, hot honey glaze, balsamic glaze, house flatbread
We then returned to the state park and walked out on the fish peer which extends well into the mouth of Delaware Bay.
After lunch Joni perused some shops in downtown Lewes, but found nothing that she couldn't live without.
Along the horizon an observation tower left over from WW II
Another observation tower, these are all along coast, less than one mile apart
One of the well camolouged year round residents in the park. At dusk you need to drive very carefully; these guys are everywhere!
After dinner we returned to our campground and enjoyed a fire while we watched the sad ending of the Celtics game. Ugh!
But the Sox won, and overall we had another great day!

Keep on trucking’! Can the Celts come back? Ouch!
